Biography :

Dr. Anil Kumar received his MSc from School of Life Sciences, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and obtained his Ph.D. from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 2013. He is currently serving as Assistant Professor in GD Goenka University Haryana. Methods to isolate, culture and characterize stem cells from skin and hair follicle tissue are the key areas of Dr. Kumar’s research. He also works on the greying of human hair follicles. Translational research in the management of Vitiligo is one of the most cited work of Dr. Kumar. He was the key author in the first laboratory report of vitiligo management by noncultured extracted hair follicle Outer Root Sheath (ORS) cell suspension. This procedure is serving as a novel, minimally invasive technique with good yield of melanocytes, melanocyte stem cells and other stem cell population of the epidermis. This method results in excellent pigmentation with no visible residual scarring which is now widely investigated field of basic and experimental clinical research.
