Biography :

Yunze He received the Ph.D. degree in instrument science and technology from National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), China in Dec, 2012 and finished the Joint PhD study in College of Electrical, Electronic and Engineering, Newcastle University, UK in Feb, 2012. Currently, he is an Associate Professor with College of Electrical and Information Engineering and Group Leader of Intelligent Sensing and Thermography with Hunan University (Top 30 in China). He has chaired or participated in more than 30 projects including NSFC, The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), The Royal Society etc. He has been awarded ‘Royal Society-Newton Mobility Grant’ in 2018. In 2020, he is selected into World’s Top 2% Scientists (Career, Stanford University). In 2021, he is selected into 2020 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers (Elsevier). He has published more than 70 academic papers in journals, which have been cited more than 3000 times in Google scholar and the h-index is 32. He has published a book titled ‘Eddy current thermography non-destructive testing’ in Chinese (Beijing, China: National Defense Industry Press, 2012) and a book titled ‘Transient electromagnetic-thermal nondestructive testing’ in English (Oxford, U.K.: Butterworth-Heinemann, 2017). His research interests include nondestructive testing, condition monitoring, renewable energy and structural health monitoring. He is reviewer for over 60 academic journals and the leading editor of special issue ‘Deep learning and AI of non-vision sensor and imaging’ of Journal of Sensors.
