Biography :
Prof.Dr.Bilal Dik is a chartered veterinary medicine. He graduated from Veterinary Faculty, Ankara University in Turkey in 1981,has a master degree in education; and a doctorate from same University in 1989. He is a full professor and lecturer in Veterinary Faculty, Selçuk University in Konya, Turkey. He has over thirty years experience of parasitological research. This includes experience of helminthological, protozoological and entomological studies. He studied on Detection of Culicoides species in Konya province in his PhD thesis. His main topic is biting midges in the genus Culicoides. He published approximately 20 papers on Culicoides species; biodiversity, taxonomy, ecology and their role in transmission of some viral diseases in Turkey. He is experienced chewing lice of wild birds, studied on chewing or blood-sucking lice of some mammals, and myiasis as well as some other topics in veterinary and medical entomology. He published more than forty publications on lice himself or together with some researchers from Turkey or foreign countries. He is a committee member of the Turkish Parasitology Society, Turkish Hydatidology Society and International Society for Phthirapterists; and is a member of several editorials boards for scientific journals. He has more than 25 national projects relevant Parasitology. He has written two books on Veterinary Entomology, and Protozoology for students and over ten book chapters, approximately one hundred and forty manuscripts related to Parasitology. He presented about sixty presentations in international and over sixty presentations in national conferences.
