Dr. Abdel Fattah is currently appointed as an assistant professor of infectious diseases in Animal Medicine Department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Benha University, Egypt. He is interested in different pathogens inducing abortive disease in livestock. He got two post doctor fellowships, 3 and 6 months, from Human Protection Consumer Institute, Germany, for evaluation of multiplex real-time PCR for detection and diagnosis of Brucella, Leptospira, and Campylobacter spp., in addition to diagnosis and molecular analysis of sheep pox and ORF viruses isolated from Egypt. Recently, he is the leading PI of an international cooperation project between Egypt and France (Imhotep Program), for studying the prevalence and molecular detection and characterization of C. burnetii among ruminants in Egypt.
