Biography :
Aisha Siraj Dr. Aisha Siraj is an Interventional cardiologist based in the USA. This is quite an accomplishment for anyone, but in particular for women from a highly conservative family from Pakistan. However, Aisha’s parents were determined that she would be educated. She attended Beacon house school and then completed college from St. Joseph’s in Pakistan She graduated from the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program with honors and amongst the top students of her class from Jinnah Sindh Medical University Karachi, Pakistan. As she had a dream to be an interventional cardiologist, she was able to complete her residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, Bronx, Newyork and later pursue her dream to be a cardiologist and then interventional cardiologist – she successfully completed both of her fellowships at the University of Arkansas for medical sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. She has served on different committees and actively participated in improving patient care through her clinical and research work. She has been the first interventional cardiology fellow to be trained at University Of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Aisha is an advocate for women in cardiology and interventional cardiology. Being a member of the committee of interns and residents she has mentored many incoming interns and residents and is actively involved in their education. She can be reached at aishasiraj@gmail.com.
