Biography :
Cyril Nicolas, born in Carpentras (France) in 1979. He competed his PhD at the University of Geneva with Pof. Jérôme Lacour in 2008. After a two years period as a postdoctoral associate with Prof. André Charette in Montreal (Canada), he became chargé de recherche (associate scientist) at the Institute of Organic and Analytical Chemistry (ICOA, U.M.R. 7311) in Orléans (France). He investigates new synthetic methods to prepare glycomimetics and glycoconjugates. His research interests range from asymmetric synthesis and catalysis to nucleoside and nucleotide mimics and iminosugar-C-glycosides as therapeutic (including antiviral and antibacterial) agents. Since 2017, he has been a board member (secretary) of the French Group for Glycosciences.
