Biography :

Dan C. Vodnar, 36 years-old, Associate Professor and Vice-rector for Research at University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (UASVM), Faculty of Food Science and Technology. My research has been focussed so far on fermentations, microencapsulation and immobilization of microorganisms and bioactive compounds on different matrices, exposure of food matrices to simulated digestion, carbohydrate metabolic conversions, biological activities of agro-industrial wastes, biotechnological conversion of environmental wastes, antimicrobial coatings and biofilm, functional food products development. Metrics: publications 118 (88 in ISI journals; 2 in top 1% Highly Cited in their domains), citations 636 (WoS), H-index: 15. My teaching and academic activities actively involve the younger generation of students in scientific research: (i) to open new horizons, (ii) to teach them science actively, and (iii) to transfer to them passion for quality work. My research activities aim to bring a visible contribution to the nutritional needs of the population.
