Dr. Hossein Hozhabri

Biography :

Dr. Hossein Hozhabri is a PhD researcher in the Human Biology and Medical Genetics at Experimental Medicine Department of Sapienza University of Rome. His PhD thesis title was “Molecular bases of Congenital Heart Diseases”. He earned a master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology from the same university with a focus on Rhabdomyosarcoma. His master’s thesis title was “The Analysis of expression profiles of microRNAs in Rhabdomyosarcoma and identification of possible new therapeutic target”. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Genetics from the Shahed University of Tehran. He is working on cardiovascular disease and rare genetic syndromes. For the past few years, he has worked on several syndromes and genetic diseases like Down, Fabry, Warburg, Senile Cardiac Amyloidosis, Goldenhar, Neurofibromatosis and so on. His work has resulted in his being invited to international and national conferences and published in peer reviewed journals and articles in leading newspapers. Dr. Hossein has co-authored several publications in scientific journals and co-authored several posters presented at scientific meetings. He is a member of various scientific and academic organizations including the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) and the Italian Society of Human Genetics (SIGU). Dr. Hozhabri speaks English, Italian, Persian and Kurdish languages. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing football and visiting art galleries.
