Biography :
Dr Ramirez obtained his degree as Biochemist (1996) from the National University of San Luis (UNSL), Argentina. Was an undergraduate Research Fellow from the National Bureau of Scientific and Technical Investigations (CONICET-Argentina) from 1998-2001. Ph.D. in Biochemistry (2000) and Magister in Immunology (2001) from the UNSL. Was a Research Fellow in the National Institute of Environmental Health Science, NIH, USDHHS, USA (2001-2008), Laboratory of Pharmacology and Chemistry, Free Radical Metabolism group. Principle Investigator from the NIH at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (Free Radical Biology and Medicine Research & Laboratory of Experimental Therapeutics) from 2008 to 2011. Currently, DR Ramirez is a professor of Molecular Physiology at the National University of San Luis (2011-actual). Dr Ramirez is Principle investigator of CONICET-Argentina and Chief of the Laboratory of Experimental and Translational Medicine (CCT-San Luis, Argentina). His research is or has been funded by the FONCYT, National University of San Luis, and CONICET (Argentina); and NIH (USA). Dr Ramirez has formed a number of undergraduate students and Doctors; and has published more than 50 articles in high-impact journals (Scopus h index 21 and Research Gate score:36.7). Is reviewer and part of the Editorial Board for a number of high-impact journals, and well is evaluator for project from NIH and the European Unión Research Council. Is an active member of scientific societies related to nutrition, toxicology, metabolism, immunology and pharmacology; AND Member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Multidisciplinary Biological Investigations-San Luis (IMIBIO-SL).
